In Ambleside

The College owns 12 Residences in Ambleside, housing from 4 to 40 students, so they are small friendly units. Most are situated very near the main Campus, with the Howes, and Crescent a few minutes walk away in the Village.
Each college-owned residence has the following facilities:


Study Bedrooms

Consist of single/twin bedrooms, each containing a bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers or bedside cabinet, desk, chair, bin, desk lamp and bookshelf, most rooms have a wash basin. All rooms are carpeted.


Kitchens

You will share your kitchen with everyone else in the house. Each kitchen contains the following: electric cooker, refrigerator, freezer (or icebox section), kettle (or hydroboil over sink), toaster, storage cupboards, and all have a microwave. Food preparation and seating areas are also provided.


Bathrooms

You will share bathroom/toilet/shower facilities, unless resident in Fairfield Hall or the en-suite twin rooms in the Howes, which have their own en-suite facilities.


Laundry facilities

In addition to the laundry facilities in Millet Yard convenient for Students accommodated in the Cottages, there are coin operated laundry facilities in the cellar of Helvellyn for all Students to use, via an entry key pad system. There is also a washer and dryer in the Crescent, which Students in the Howes can use via an entry key pad system, and a washer and dryer in Gregory


Accommodation office opening times

The Accommodation office is located in the Granary Building.
Opening hours are 9.00am-3.00pm, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.


Alternatively, off-campus accommodation is offered by landlords in Ambleside and in surrounding areas. Check on the accommodation searchable database, on the Official St.Martins website, for more information.
